Craftsbury Trails 2024-25 projects include:
Getting the word out to residents and visitors about Craftsbury’s outdoor recreation opportunities through the creation of this website, installing the Dustan Field kiosk and trail system way finding signs and undertaking other promotional efforts.
Improving the Sterling Trail, accessible from the Common, for walking, running, mountain biking and snowshoeing. The Town received a 2023 state Recreational Trails Program grant and hired Dirt Shapes Trail construction of Craftsbury in 2024. The work is now complete and awaiting trail signs and blazes.
Planning for a non-winter trail connection between Craftsbury Village and East Craftsbury and exploring the option of an accessible trail for all users at the Village Green Space.
A new Village to Common Trail (V2C) for walking, running mountain biking and snow shoeing was completed in the fall of 2024 and will be officially open in the Spring of 2025. It was built by volunteer labor and achieved through the generosity of several private landowners.
