Craftsbury Trails relies on volunteers - local residents who recreate and want to expand opportunities for their families, friends and neighbors and help grow the town’s outdoor recreation economy. In 2024 Craftsbury Trails became an official town of Craftsbury Committee to advise the

 

Local Expertise

 
 

Both Sterling College and Craftsbury Outdoor Center expert staff have donated countless hours of their time to this effort. Craftsbury businesses and farms including the Genny, C-Village Store and Pete’s Greens have voiced strong support and are always ready to assist when needed. 

 

Grants

 
 

Craftsbury Trails benefited from a Vermont Outdoor Recreation Economy Council (VOREC) grant - to the town in 2019 for this website and other promotional efforts. In 2021, the town received a state Municipal Planning grant that supported trail planning in Craftsbury Village and received a 2023 state Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grant for major improvements to the Sterling Trail - a project completed in late 2024
